DISCLAIMER: This thread is used to give constructive responses as well as ask questions about my guide. This is NOT for you to flame on me, flame on others, advertise your channel/videos, and/or discuss actual video games. Consequences in order: Warning, 2 day ban, 1 month ban, perma-ban (I will skip steps of consequence depending on how crazy the situation is. Anyways, without further a due, here is my guide!

So, for the past 2 months, I have been studying actual, truthful, non-spamming ways to get your YouTube channel more well-known. With actual proof of this stuff working, I am very certain that this guide will work for you. So anyways, let's get to the list!

1: Be Active on Forums
Being active on forums is not really hard work at all. A forum is used to discuss stuff, not to advertise. Therefore, if you do so want to advertise your videos, be active on this forum or any forum for that matter. Being active on forums will get you more well known around the community and thus make you form friendships which if you do become very good friends, they will advertise you. PROTIP: Don't join too many forums. 2-3 will be good. 4+ is just overboard.

2. Be Creative, Be Original
Don't do stuff other people have done (ex. Achievement Horse, Trolling Tuesdays, etc.), people will rage at you and say stuff like "ZOMG YOU STUPID COPIER, ROOSTERTEETH IS BETTER. JUST DIE ZOMG I'M 12 YEARZ OLD #THUGLYFE2K12". Just do something that you made up yourself. Also, plan a whole variety of different video games, and I don't mean "Oh, I know! CoD1, CoD2, CoD3, CoD4, Cod:WaW, CoD:BO" NO. I mean just like Battlefield, Halo, Modernwarfare, etc. You don't have to focus your videos around one whole game. After a while it gets pretty boring and no one would want to watch it.

3. Help Out in Videos
Helping out others in videos will help promote your channel. How? Just previewing what your commentary would be like and if people like it, they will check out your channel and be a loyal subscriber.

Wrong channel you are looking at. Cookie may be my own account, but like I said in my introduction thread, I help out a guy named guitargameguy and our subscriber rate recently has been going up around 45 subs per day for the past week. He also has a successful Zombie Attack Series in which most episodes have >100K views as well as his Halo: Reach vids and playthroughs. The stuff I have done for his channel is become a director and get my machinima on his channel, which brings me fame. And in which people already know me, I just use my Punk account to do stuff when I am bored.

All sarcasm aside, doing more than one game series really helps, because you will get those dumbasses who spam you saying "CoD is gay, you f**king bitch LOL COME AT ME BRO I HAVE NO LIFE BECAUSE I ATTEMPT TO TROLL." It also gets a variety of different kind of gamers to subscribe to your channel. And you are welcome for putting your name in my shitty mediocre channel background.

Geez, the people who replied are complete assholes. I actually like the guide, you guys just need to give it a chance, not sit here and think that trolling Fr0z3n, which all three of you suck at I must add, would give you guys more attention. I even question all of your moderatorships, especially Drunk. Fr0z3n and Josh deserve to be lead moderators if not Admins, because unlike you guys, they actually bust their ass to make the site a better place while you guys cry and bitch about how you get no attention whatsoever.

I think #1 is huge. Everyone on this site, heed that #1 tip especially. It is what I have been trying to say for how long.

They are all good tips. Im not successful at all, so you can take this with a grain of salt, but I would recommend just being yourself. I dont watch peoples videos to really pay attention to the gameplay and all that. The people that I really watch, I tend to watch for their personality and to hear what they are going to talk about. Half the time I just listen and do other things with my eyes.

Also. Make sure you interact with your viewers/commentors as much as you can. When your channel is small and you get like 3 comments on a video, there is absolutely no reason to not respond to each of them.

I'm sorry I was just kidding, I had a few other people ask me how to get sponsored and I referred them to this link, so I didn't mean to troll you, I just thought I'd state the obvious that people are obsessive when it comes to playing CoD, to a point where they will blindly follow anything the CoD Franchise produces. In fact I might be struck down by God himself for saying this, but I don't think CoD is a very good shooter or even remotely entertaining and other games have done far better jobs.

Getting sponsored is the motivating factor to participate in this forum, so spelling out the steps for people seems like a very logical plan of action, one that I thoroughly support. So don't think that my harmless poke at the stereotype was anything more or less than that. And Blink, I've been positively contributing to this forum as a well and I'm only here to help boost up the other hardworkers, not to be a complete trolling arse.

Also, I think it might be important to mention that, while participating in forums you should have a signature that helps promote you and your activity. I.E. see any of the moderators Sig's. Link To your channel, achievements, activities you participate in, Promote others, Some trivial amount of info that helps people understand who you are, etc.

Something that has really helped me to start growing is to set up an upload schedule and try to stick with it as best as possible because people like to be able to depend on their favorite creators for fresh and creative content.
